    If your hand sanitizer is fruity-fu-fu smelling (mainly marketed to women) then you have a shite hand sanitizer that does very little to stop the spread of viruses and bacteria. Your hand sanitizer shouldn't smell like a dessert you would want to eat. It should smell like poison and burn like hell if you have any cuts on your hands.

    i think the same site recommend 20 second soap and water handwashing as an alternative, probably not as hard on the skin

    all sanitizers should have a minimum 60% alcohol content, ideally over 70% in order to be effective. Or at least that is our instructions as a food manufacturing plant. We had to stop buying some products that had 60% because they couldn't guarantee that it would kill the covid.
