Did you note that my posting stated "in the case of a contagious pathogen I have the right to expect the best decisions to be made for the benefit of the majority." You replied "you could just avoid etc" as if I am asking for myself - I am asking for "the benefit of the majority". So do you suggest the majority of the population of the World avoids contact with anyone else? I ask because, although confused about some people's position on the response to this crisis, I got the idea you were in the 'camp' not wanting controls on the economy - and if that IS the case then how would you square the World's population avoiding everyone else but maintaining an economy?
I did not know about the average volume of saliva (which, as a biologist, I do know is called 'spit') but as a microbiologist I would have to have been extremely badly taught not to know saliva has anti-microbial properties! I think many people in the street know that one.
hey jim, you can ask me if it is a fact or claim if you want. i graduated may of 73 from the university of missouri with a 60 hour master of science in pubic health degree. i also graduated at the same time with a master of business administration degree. i have evidence of both if you would like to see it. coffee on the blvd sometime? (but only if you are a friend) i also worked 25 hours a week in the evenings as a radiology tech at the boone county hospital in columbia but i have no evidence to support that. it was a tough two years. fyi i have decided to back off the covid thing a bit. defending my position on dumaguete info does not appear to be making me any friends. making friends and sharing information is why i came to dgt info in the first place. cheers

i took it that jim had a question about my credential as an epidemiologist so that is my response. if he has concerns about my response i will certainly take them seriously

Most the people that are taking offense to your, very reasonable and logical, opinions are scared because they are in a very high risk demographic. You cannot expect people who are scared, many rightfully so since their peers are the ones dying in those nursing homes, to listen to anything that goes against their own best interest. Fear is dominating their lives right now, they are going to attack anyone that goes against the narrative they believe protects them.
