    I don't know.
You can also consider a battery backed uninterruptible power source (UPS). This will manage most brownouts which last less than an hour. This will power a couple of monitors, the computer, one LED light and the Internet modem.

No downtime required for the generator to power up, no noise, fuel, fumes, etc.

This is not just NORECO's problem it is Country-wide and it is certainly nothing new, it has been going on for decades.

Singapore was formed as an Independent City State in 1965. They went to work on getting a reliable power supply to all of the islands, it can be done if the Leaders want to do it. They have never taken it seriously here, nor will they in my lifetime I think.

All of the islands in Singapore?

"getting a reliable power supply to all of the islands" sounds like a big accomplishment.

How many islands are there and how far apart are they?

ReJoice about ten years ago. Do not remember what I paid for it. I will guess it was between $400 and $500.
    Hope that helps.

Yes I do; Best and Strong 5000, 220 V, RATED OUTPUT 4.8KW, MAX OUTPUT 5.2KVA and a POWER FACTOR OF 1.0. Has a circuit breakers. Is 12 volt electric start.
Over the years I have replaced the 12 volt battery twice. The plastic Ign. switch went (mammary glands up):inlove: and I replaced it with a push button start switch and a toggle on and off switch. Other than that all I have had to do was feed it gas and oil. Looking back over the last ten years I think I got a good deal with that purchase.

Thanks. My battery on the promate is still doing well after 2+ years but I expect to replace it by the next year. Wonder if I can find a similar replacement locally. Yeah, I think you got a good deal.
