This comparison is about prices/fees. Not about quality

this was very informative, thanks for going to the time to do this.

i have never been to SU so i have no first hand information about that setting. i would say that ace is very easy to use as far as the lab is concerned. registration, business office and lab are all within 150 feet of each other and registration is about 30 feet from the front door. very low volume of patients and i have never had to wait in line. they have told me too that they are open 24/7 for outpatient lab so when i go at 6 a m its like having my very own personal lab! i order what i want and pick it up 2 hours later which is also pleasing. its helpful to see the prices are competitive with SU.

There's a laboratory called Curie Laboratory near the boulevard and its charges are only 1/4 of those fees in big hospitals. And you get your result instantly, in a few minutes. Curie Lab is situated on the ground floor of Spanish Heritage near Bo's Coffee, boulevard area.

Does Ace take credit cards, like SU?

I think I would treat that one with suspicion. Blood test results within a few minutes? I think some of the tests alone will take longer than that and also it would mean there is no queue. How many testering stations do they have? RFeally? Within minutes?

I can't give actual comparisons with current prices, but in my experience (and not just mine, I think I've seen it mentioned by others also), if you need medicines and you don't mind getting a generic drug rather than expensive branded drugs, your best bet might be Generika pharmacy. The one at Noble Franca street is my go to branch, but I think there's at least 4 of them in Dumaguete.

I send my staff there for yearly food handlers check up and it is very reasonable.. Chest x-ray, urinalysis and fecal tests. It is accredited and possibly owned by the local DOH whether that means anything or not. :sneaky:

For dengue or blood count, yes--you actually sit there and wait a few minutes---witho big hospitals they will ask you to come back in the afternoon for the results. Curie Lab only does testing. It has no other services but hospitals are into everything with too many patients coming in and out. Curie Laboratory is way cheaper and gives faster service----no long waits.

When I was there, not very long ago, they had no problem taking my US bank issued "Visa Credit Card". That always helps when filing with the FMP.

I know you said "Not about quality" but I personally can not pay for anything with out taking into consideration the "quality".
If the numbers are Pesos and the difference is only 1,314.51 pesos the difference at today's exchange rates is only $27.12 US in favor of ACE! :nurse: For me that is a VERY SMALL price to pay (save) for a new Hospital and equipment. Remember my 9 hours at SUMC ER and 5 day stay at ACE? after my stay there I assumed that ACE was higher simply because it is NEW, thanks for showing me that I was wrong. I am for sure not the smartest kid on the block.:asshat: I also try hard not to be the "fool and his money". :banghead: :o o:
Thanks for the cost run down. IOU a beer or the drink of your choosing.
