i see lots of small labs around the city. i used to use "moms laboratory" near the park downtonw. results in two hours. i changed from them because they started requiring a doctors prescription before they would do testing. as of now ace will do it on your request and give you the results so i prefer that. there is always some question of the quality of "mom and pop" shops however i never had any suspicions about moms. moms also have a fairly limited menu to choose from. one of the nice things about the phils is that when i go see a doctor, that is my second opinion. i make my first using google and local labs and then see if the doctor agrees with me!

i write in support of this observation. nearly half price on most of my meds at generika (with a k), not generica *with a c) (although you can get 100 mg generic viagra at generica without a script for 50 pesos a tab} (if up you are still in to that sort of thing) and if you are the bootleg cialis available on the blvd, five bottles for a thousand pesos, works!

GZ, do they require a prescription to do your tests or will they do it on your say so and give you the results?

I think with or without. We went there to have blood count done on my son without any doctor's note.

When I worked in haematology in the 70s, we had a machine that gave a full printout of blood results within seconds.

Interesting. Thanks. I had the idea that here it would still be test tube and microscope. Thought about expensive machines but couldnt see the return being profitable even if they got say 100 through the door every day but who knows. I spoke in ignorance it appears. And I have had a load of blood tests done in my time in Duma and never thought about the turn around time although in my case from memory it was always within a few hours in SUMC.

As you realise, it was not here where I worked! At that time they were still in the 1870s.

After analysing the blood by machine, we did make slides and examine under a microscope if necessary - for example if the white blood cell count was high (looking for leukaemia as a possibility). Usually this was done by the most experienced and took only a few minutes - I can remember the look on the Senior Hematologist's face as he got up from looking at some samples as he knew the patient was a goner. The GP was phoned immediately and the patient taken to hospital within the hour. A very good experience in the maxim that life is relatively short - unfortunately very short for some - so make the best of it.

Isnt it closed at that location? I used to use them, but they no longer exist there. If you know of a new location, please post. They were always fast and efficient

As a matter of interest, do they analyse nasal swabs to detect carriers or do it by fecal analysis?
