Got another unwelcome surprise today: Valencia now bans parking on the side of the street on the block with M Lhuillier. Maybe it's temporary. I hope so. If not, it seems like the municipality is hell-bent on destroying any budding commercial growth in the center of town. With now three parallel blocks in the central zone under interminable road construction (and the loss of those parking areas), the municipality is in a dead heat with Dumaguete for parking idiocy.
There is plenty of parking in Valencia. Walking a city block is not that difficult. If not just turn on your hazard lights and park wherever you like.
Learning the actual propose of this button has saved me many hours, perhaps days, worth of time looking for parking spots. It works even better if you have a SO with you to go do the shopping while you sit in the car and wait. I even installed a touch screen Android stereo unit in the car so I can watch my YouTube and Netflix while parked in the middle of the road. Shopping in town is actually quite enjoyable and relaxing now. If any LTO traffic enforcers question my parking I just act confused about the rules, say I'm a tourist, smile, apologize, drive around the block and park back in the exact same spot a few moments later after they have left.
Now, this is very interesting. Person A does all the actual shopping. Person B sits in car with reclining chair, small freezer to cool the beer, movie screen with touch control. It is Person B who says "Shopping in town is actually quite enjoyable and relaxing now" ... the person who is NOT actually doing the shopping.
Great idea! I forgot those were a thing. Searching Lazada for a car ref now. Shopping in town should be even more enjoyable with one if those.
Does Elon Musk make electric cars and send rockets into space? One could argue he doesn't personally do that but he certainly does provide the motivation and inspiration for those activities. I am the Elon of my personal Dumaguete shopping. It just wouldn't happen without me.
