Does anyone know anywhere in Dumaguete where I might be able to change Scottish Pounds to Pesos please? I have tried my bank here and a couple of money changers, and they just looked at me like I was some kind of freak! It probably doesn't help that they were issued by two different Scottish banks (Clydesdale and RBS), so they look completely different! Or.....if anyone would like to change some personally let me know. I have 240 GBP (I think), in 20s. Many thanks
Mark I doubt very much that anyone other than another Scotsman will take them, as you may be aware Scottish Notes are not Sterling notes and that is the legal fact, Even when I lived in GIBRALTAR not even RBS would accept them Tough but...................................
Even in England, that adjacent country with a deep love for the Scots, feel they have been given 'monopoly' money if presented with a Scottish note. Best to put them away and wait until you return to the UK, if that is what you intend.
Not a hope mate unless you find another haggis basher. I got one once about 50 years ago in Glasgow when I attended a wedding there. Kept it a keepsake. No idea where it is now. But if you had some scotch worth about 250 quid that would be a different matter.
Believe it or not I’ve seen Scottish £’s on the exchanges rate electronic board in the money changer upstairs in Robs mall. Never had any Scottish £s to change, but if you are passing by maybe worth a punt. I distinctly remember that their offering buy was .5 of a centavo better than ordinary £s. Cheers, C
