First of all, my apologies for posting this tragic and depressing incident that happened recently to a gas pump boy at Star Oil gas station in Mangnao. The said gas station was robbed by an unidentified man who hit/beat the gas attendant on the head and left him bleeding there. Yesterday a frantic search for blood donors was done on his behalf and now the victim is in critical condition at the Holy Child Hospital. Below is the link of the story. BTW, this is not the first time that gas attendants had died for the same reason. The husband of a friend was stabbed to death while tending the gas station where he worked. The motive was robbery. Here’s a video of the attack—-
Surely the owner of the gas statin has a clear obligation here. When someone was working on my house and got injured, twice this happed but not the same person, I took them to hospital and paid for their treatment. My undertanding was that as I was paying them, I had an obligation under law to do this, not that I needed the law to make me do what I did though.
I think the "reach out" for help is mainly for the family as he was probably the "bread winner" and Star Oil will probably only cover his medical expenses...
A critical piece of information is missing here: what is his blood type? I know some locals can be ruthless/heartless with their blood "donations". If the guy needs blood then let everyone know what type he needs. Any financial needs should, 100%, be met by his employer:
I think the gas station is partly paying the bills—could be at a limited amount because this type of medical emergency needs a lot of money which this guy’s family does not have.
Oh. His blood type is A+ and I hope donations came yesterday but regarding the financial aspect of the problem, the gas station owner might be footing much of the bills but not all, I think.
UPDATE: The face of the person who beat the victim 4x really, really hard is clearly captured by a CCTV. The criminal, after striking the victim with 4 hard blows, dragged the victim to a dark area. Well, I would like to hear the capture of the criminal in the coming days.
Ok, but I believe they are legally responsible for more than just the hospital bills. His salary also should be paid while he is out of work.
