    Hello family, I am an American from Miami originally just turning 49. I have been living in the Philippines for 10 years now, I work online and have a family here. I am currently living In Lipa city, Batangas and considering moving to Dumagute. I would finding a decent place to rent there and potentially some land for agricultural purposes and information you can provide will be helpful. Also if its allowed to visit there yet due to the covid restrictions. Thanks in advance

    Lipa City is on my list of potential places to live -what makes you wish to move from there? Obviously if private then no reply required.

    I thought that possible as I know someone living in Laguna and that area was badly affected. It is what put me off Lipa City.

    But wondering if there will be migration from Manila and Cebu to safer climes, like Dumaguete, because of what happened in the Covid crisis.

    Only OFW's and LSI's so far, and even Bacong and Canlaon cut them off last week due to the quarantine facilities being at capacity.

    The Governor is expecting to be rated New Normal or something similar that ends quarantine restrictions in the coming weeks. Not sure what the entrance requirements would be under that system. Best to keep checking, airlines might be a bit of info, or go to the Governor's FB page and see what is going on.

    I think the New Normal is going to be the same as what we have seen over the last few months.. With local politicians enjoying the power trip afforded them by this virus.

    This thread is not about COVID and will not turn into one.

    To answer the OP's question: yes, travel to Negros is possible. No, it is not worth the trouble and you would have all kinds of problems trying to get all the proper documentation. Wait until all this nonsense is over.

    The reason is wanting to be near the beach. Lots of replies but you guys are going on and on about Taal is not helping with my question.

    Taal was and is a valid topic since you were not clear on why you wanted to move here, as for beach access, there are many places known for their beaches than here in Dumaguete... wish you luck on finding your perfect place :smile:
