You guys realize that you do not see moderator actions or warnings issued, right? That is handled on the backend. You may think nothing has been done but it is completely possible that warning points were issued or account restrictions given to a user. The 3 people on this forum with moderating permissions also have lives and we do not read every single post made on the forum. However, we do read every single post that gets reported and the comments made by the user making the report.

A post that gets reported has a much higher chance of having a moderator action taken against it. This may play a part in why you see some odd choices in what gets moderated and what doesn't. People do report off-topic comments and express frustration with it and many people do not report personal attacks and only complain at a much later time. Then you will see moderator action taken against what moderators see with their own eyes. We don't see everything. It is not easy to moderate a forum and you do not make any friends doing it.

well i agree that moderators in general should be diplomatic. what i read is that moderators in general should strive to increase membership in their forum and do what they can to help users enjoy coming to the forum i would imagine most of us have more pros then cons here or we would not stay. i just want to state my general support for NMRN observations and i also consider the post of davy whatever to be in appropriate, trite, et cet. not befitting his role here.

I will just say warning issued, in my opinion, have been very personnel, like the deleted post. Everyone can have a bad day a moderator told me after a negative rating I got which was totally out of common sense, yes that include moderators too, it seems to me like moderator(s) in power have veto here about what is right or what is wrong, pls be fair, and if I get banned I couldn't care less, my vote goes to free speech

You have never been issued a warning and you do not have access to see who has been issued warnings, not sure what you are on about with warning points being issued out fairly or unfairly since you have zero knowledge of when they are handed out or any personal experience with it. If you feel you were given an unfair negative rating report the post and state that so it can be reviewed.

Note: I see where you reported a negative rating that was given to a post of yours. I also see where I removed it. So what is your gripe? Also, what I may not have told you is that the person who issued it may have lost their ability to give ratings either temporarily or permanently. And moderation taken on other user accounts are just none of you business. Users can be given a chance to fix certain behaviors and/or bad/disruptive attitudes (and many have done just that). Those discussions/actions are private and do not concern you in any way.

Yes, you are right, it was not a warning but a negative rating. You get pretty offensive and tell me that other user accounts are not my business if you say so, but I will tell you and others my honest opinion if I feel for it, my business or not

Nobody has stopped you from doing so have they? Let's not act like you are at risk of being banned for stating an opinion here. Nobody is out to get you. I'm just pointing out that your opinion is purely speculative and not based in reality as you have no idea to whom or when a point has been issued...just my honest opinion.

Happy you have taken action, that means you find the rating wrong I assume. I find there have been different rules (moderating) to different persons (maybe that not my business?) and I'm not trying to be childish or negative, but let"s solve any misunderstanding there must be, or agree we have a different point of view as an adult, and that it is normal we have a different opinion

And I think we all agree we are not complaining on a personal level about the human beings who are moderators (except for any one who is rude and mocking to members) but about the system. With so many postings made to date in response to my decision to stand up against being mistreated, surely someone in power will take note???

Moderators must take on this voluntary role for a number of reasons - I would not do it as I don't want power. It suits some and it doesn't suit others.

I would have given you a 'Best Answer' here but it is not available.

I suppose with so much being put (?dumped) into 'off-topic' there would be hundreds, thousands perhaps, of 'Best Answer'.

P.S. Yes, They do it call it 'bum'. Couldn't reply before as that thread was locked after you asked a question.

Interesting thread. I'm curious if a comment such as:
"So you are saying?" Talking like an immature and jealous girlfriend/wife so I'll answer to you like I do them:

No, I didn't say that. GTFO my face and come back when you learn how to listen/read.

Would be considered a personal attack or comment that should be moderated?
