Not a lot of new good Netflix so watching some good old ones this week. ‘The Usual Suspects’ tonight rerun. Very good
my favorite movie of all times is "12 angry men"... a 1950s masterpiece filmed in black & white starring henry fonda and ensemble of 11 other outstanding actors... when i watched this film for the first time it blew me away... the acting is superb... if you've never seen it... i highly recommend you take the time to view it... it will leave a lasting impression.
If your taste runs to foreign films I would recommend "jean d florette" and the sequel "manon of the spring" directed by Claude Berri one of my favorites
I saw them many years ago - something very special about the pace and mood of French movies. But surprisingly, neither of those two movies appear on the following 'Top 100' lists: https://www.timeout.com/paris/en/film/best-french-movies https://www.imdb.com/list/ls059693712/ But it encourages me to watch some more French movies, using those lists as a source.
ahh but they received 3.5 stars and 4 stars from Roger Ebert... my favorite reviewer of all time... also if you are wanting another recommendation "Marcel Pagnol's "My fathers glory" and "My mothers castle"
BTW these are films about emotion and the human condition, subjects that in our present environment will give you a pleasant afternoon's entertainment. if that is your "cuppa" LOL
