We went to the BDO at Robinsons yesterday, not much of a queue and got in no problem with face mask BUT the guard told us that as of next week visor type face shield or no entry.
Same at Landbank was there about 3 weeks ago, no Face Shield and no Face Mask no entry. The guards let me borrow one they were keeping for people like me (who didn't have). Absolutely no logic!
Seems banks are the only ones strictly going this route. I guess to board a bus you have to have one, but as I watch them go by I see a number of the passengers with them flipped up or off completely, most wear a mask too but not even all of them.
I keep one of those worthless face shields in the car. They are only P50 or less. I have yet to be required to wear one. It is madness and completely pointless but it's not that much of an issue.
I guess most of it is about employers worrying that their staff will stop showing up for work if and when things get worse (with local transmission of the virus), unless they make the same demands of customers as they do of their staff. And no, it's not just the banks. Last time I was at the BI office they had the same requirement (mask + face shield).
We had to go to the BIR yesterday and they have the same rule but once you are past the gate at least 90% of the people including the staff have the shield flipped up so it's really only protecting the hair
My reply was intended to reference Commercial Establishments, I have very little to no contact with Government Offices.
