No. Asking reasonable questions is not speculation.

    spec·u·la·tion

    Learn to pronounce

    noun
    noun: speculation; plural noun: speculations
    1. the forming of a theory or conjecture without firm evidence.
"there has been widespread speculation that he plans to quit"

Stating that the hospital asked how the patient got past the border and protocols, and asking reasonable questions to show possibilities is not speculation. No one is forming a theory or giving an opinion other than we don't know and would like to know.
    Conjecture:
an opinion or conclusion formed on the basis of incomplete information.
"conjectures about the newcomer were many and varied"

No opinion or conclusion was offered in anything I wrote. Just that I don't know and would like to know and someone might have information I haven't read or heard.

These only add up to 28. That's assuming that the death in Zamboanguita is a newly confirmed case, otherwise 27. If they can't get basic maths right, God help us....

[Dumaguete] City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla disclosed that 13 close contacts of the 5 additional COVID confirmed cases have been quarantined and shall be subject to swab tests.
The City now has 11 active COVID cases, thus authorities are asking the members of the public to observe the health protocols such as wearing of face masks, frequent hand washing and social distancing.
Specifically, 8 of the new Persons Under Monitoring or PUMs are close contacts of the 4 members of a family who were confirmed COVID cases while 4 other PUMs are close contacts of NEGOR-COV 253.
Dr. Talla also informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Chairperson of the City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases that 12 other PUMs are quarantined today but are not related to the active COVID cases.
The 12 other PUMs include: 8 Locally Stranded Individuals from Manila, Cebu, Mandaue City and Zamboanga City; 2 sales representatives from Cebu and 2 private employees from Manila.
On the other hand, 34 PUMs completed today the 14-day quarantine without any medical incident, thus cleared to return to their families. Nine (9) of the newly released PUMs were exposed to a COVID case in Barangay Bajumpandan.
Also, of the current 319 PUMs: 170 are in designated hotel facilities, 65 are in the community isolation center, while 88 are in the barangay isolation centers.
None of the 319 Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) seen and examined by the City Health workers manifested symptoms of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) while under quarantine.

As I said, my apologies too. I mixed the two cases up but the one fact of the story I find strange is the matter of an ambulance fee being 20,000 but she can afford to book a room in a hospital just like a hotel.

I'm used to that. If you'll notice, the last line of the script part doesn't add up to 361 either. That's relatively normal error. Onething I will say - Cebu brought its cases way down, transferred skills to Bacolod and Bacolod is down, Ililo is showing sings of reduction. I think it's very possible they get this right and quell the spread. Crossing my fingers.

Something we have to be VERY VERY careful about. I have wondered since late march what would happen if Dumaguete in Negros Oriental suddenly developed "clusters," like manila and cebu. Could we control the outbreak, could we break the cycle of rapid contagion spreading by "local transmission."

Well folks, IT'S HERE, and, so far, it does not look good. We've switched back to "take out," instead of "dine-in," for a week (but not stopping good tips); reduced our out-of-the-house trips; and gotten more careful about distancing. Our 100% use of face masks has never and will never slack. We have to "flatten" the curve here. THINK THINK THINK....

It's really interesting to see the 'poles apart' views on this thing. Just been looking at a video post made by eminent scientists and health experts from various countries saying that the whole thing is a lie from politicians in terms of how serious this is. I didn't watch it to the end as I was interrupted by curried pork balls, but the gist of it was that this is just another flu bug.

Really interested to see how this all plays out. I think the see-saw is just about tipping towards not knackering the world economy any further now, but we'll see. UK is just entering a 4 week lockdown as of tomorrow. I sense that if that extends any further there will be serious kick-back from people as I think most are now completely p****d off with the whole thing.

Not being a scientist, health expert nor politician, I'll just do what I do and get on with my life without trying to predict how 'the virus' that has taken over our lives the last 9 months will play out eventually. It's not even worth expending brain power on as far as I'm concerned. What will be, will be.
