Why don't you try skype? 2.40 pound a month cancel anytime, just download the app on your phone but you both need internet.

I will word this another way.. if my brother is out fishing he cannot use Skype because no internet.. so i can phone him on the number he has provided me, no problem.. he can phone me also but its cheaper to txt message.. So he can phone me using his regular cell phone provider and no internet. He can also txt me with no internet just using a regular cell phone provider. I can phone his number but and he receives my phone calls from my Globe SIM but i am unable to txt message him. That is my problem.

There are a couple of things you could try so you better understand the problem.

Send a test text using someone else's globe phone. If that works stick your sim in that phone and try it again.

If it turns out to be a problem with your phone try deleting the contact and re-entering it.
Send a text from a smart (sim) phone.

This possibly will not help but Phone Data has absolutely nothing to do with sending a text. That is sent over the telephone network not the data network. If he can take and hear your calls then he must be able to see your texts. I suggest you try someone elses phone and your own and text someone else you know in Scotland. That little exercise should reveal a few answers I think.

Now that we are on page three of this saga, can I ask andiflip has he tried contacting his brother by way of another person's phone?
Surely if he does that and it works......what would that tell you? I do hope this text message ain't urgent, but as a last resort maybe his brother should join Dumagueteinfo....just a thought.

I have free unlimited texting to all international numbers from my US SIM (that connects through local cellular providers). I regularly send and receive text messages to and from the US from here. I can send a text to a number for you to see if it goes through. If you want you can send me a PM with the number and what your want the message to be. This may help to determine if the problem is on this end or in the UK.

Are you using Tmobile? Just curious as they specifically have language in their agreement about being available for travel and not intended for people living in foreign countries. Not sure if they monitor though. They could also be saying that to not upset local carriers. Have they ever conversed with you about always being out of the US?
