    No. I use Google Fi. They have never contacted me concerning my location or travel through any country (including several years in Afghanistan). It just works, and usually much better than the local providers since it automatically switches to the provider with the best service at my location. Data is pricey ($10/GB I think) but I only use it when Globe is crap and I don't have access to WiFi and I really need/want internet access. Standard monthly is $20/month for unlimited text and calls (price for voice varies depending on country called and if you have a WiFi connection).

    Also, I don't "live" in a foreign country and I never have. I either work (not a resident visa) or I'm a tourist.

    The saga continues.. Rye's txt went thru, so sure that end works..My brother checked again at their end using Tesco/O2 and they are saying maybe someone is not paying the access charges so they are blocked,, i would not believe that from an outstanding and reliable outfit such as Globe.. Going to try a few other things before i got to their office and read someone the riot act..

    Before you read them the riot act there are a couple of things you can do.
    You know Rye's phone and SIM work.
    Try putting your SIM in Rye's phone. If that works the problem is your phone. If it doesn't work the problem is your SIM or account with Globe.
    If the problem is your phone there a couple of things you can do.
    Delete the offending contact, reboot your phone then add the contact back to your list.

    My phone does not have a physical SIM card, it is a digital SIM built in to the phone, and the number is a US number, not a local one. What my text showed was that his brother can receive international texts from a US provider (that is using Philippine service providers to deliver that text). I can send a text through my Globe SIM to see if that works. If it does it is likely Andiflip's phone or SIM that is the issue.

    Let me know if your brother received the text from my Philippines number. If he received it you will likely need to buy a new sim card.

    Curious, have you updated your SIM in the last few years? Older SIM cards are not LTE capable, that could be an issue...or not.

    It is still around 4 in the morning there so will know later on.. my SIM card says it is LTE. I am going to try moving my SIM card into the 1st slot and see if that makes any difference.. I will also try what show pony mentioned and remove his number and re add it later..

    I can feel a horrible @ss eating coming on.. I just sent a txt message to my daughter in Canada with the Unli Itxt20 application.. its good for one one txt.. she got it so i thought i would continue.. without the special promo. I send her 2 more txts and they all went thru and she answered me on a txt also..

    Nope, did you send a txt thru Globe because if you did he didn't receive it either.. Now i am going to check with his mobile operator and see if they can check back and see where the problem is..
