The early April spike in the death rate in the US was significant. It appears that the hospitals are getting a lot better at saving people. https://ourworldindata.org/excess-mortality-covid
But this is true of many deaths: The person who gets pneumonia as a secondary infection of many other illnesses, the person with a weak heart who dies of 'shock' when seeing a truck hurtling towards him. What did they die of? And would they have lived longer, maybe much longer, if the secondary issue was not present?
From CNN Philippines: The Philippine government has set a price range for RT-PCR (real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) tests for COVID-19 in the country following complaints of exorbitant rates charged on clients. Health Secretary Francisco Duque III on Wednesday said the range for these tests in private hospitals and laboratories is set from ₱4,500 to ₱5,000. Public facilities are only allowed to charge ₱3,800 for a swab test." "Duque said private facilities are allowed to charge cheaper than the set floor price but they cannot exceed ₱5,000 — even for rush test results." "Duque also said they will also study putting a price cap on test kits and on antigen testing."
From CNN Philippines: "The country’s coronavirus task force has prohibited traditional caroling this Christmas season to prevent the spread of COVID-19, an official said Wednesday." Sorry to all those who will miss that treat - I assume it would include drum banging and trumpets. But (here I go again "virtue signalling" ) - pity for those who got a better Christmas from it and/or help raise funds for needy causes.
After announcing last week that we could expect a vaccine in the Philippines in 'second quarter of 2021', today the NIATF announced that realistically it will be end of 2021/early 2022. Presumably next week it will be last quarter 2022. After announcing last week that there would be 60m vaccine shots for 30m Filipinos (two each), today NIATF has announced that 60m Filipinos will benefit from vaccination. That might be someone misunderstanding their own information, what what a farce!
Not sure how the average person is going to pay for this. But the heck with the poor, to quote Ebeneezer Scrooge, if they must die let them do so and reduce the surplus population. And here just this week or last, a company in the US has developed an at home test that costs around $5, or less than 250P.

That's not my thoughts. If, in the judgement of the physicians, the person would have lived longer "but for" the coronavirus, then the cause can be coronavirus with a comorbidity. I have some idea how they do it in reality, but too much politics is involved on the internet social board level.
