I think it cost me about P11,000 when I did my first (probationary) application. Plus the express fee. Plus the bus to Cebu. Plus the hotel in Cebu.
When converting to permanent earlier this year I had an agency do it all for me. Total cost about P30,000, no trips needed. Well worth it.

What do you mean by 'permanent'? 13A is 'permanent', but renewable after 5 years. Is there a more permanent option that does not require renewal?

13A visa costs 15,000 peso's. Thats for everything including I card.. If you want to pay double that its up to you.. 2 trips to Cebu finish it off and a nice trip to get away from here for a nite.. if you choose..SSRV is good for 3 years and 13A is good for 5 years.

The initial 13a visa is a temporary visa good for 1 year. A couple of months before the 13a Temporary visa expires the BI recommends applying for the 13a Permenant visa a couple of months before the old one expires.
The 13a permanent visa never expires however the ACR-I card needs to be renewed every 5 years.

Well, I got mine first time in December 2019. Says it is 'Permanent' and card expires in December 2024.

Yes. Your 13A visa (your right to be here) is permanent, and your ACRI card has to be renewed every 5 years. They are 2 separate things.

    I don't know.
I recently heard from an expat that there is no such thing as a permanent 13A. If your Philippine spouse passes away you no longer can retain your visa. You have a certain amt of time to get a ssrv or temp visa. After 20t years of marriage this guy was devastated....

Not surprised he was devastated - if a UK citizen marries a foreigner and the UK citizen dies, the foreign spouse has their Visa accelerated to full settlement with about another year to proceed to citizenship (that is assuming the foreigner has not already reached that stage as it takes only 7 years - whereas here it takes 'fornever').

This, as with many other things, should be reciprocal - if here they don't know how to treat foreigners well then other countries should treat Filipino citizens in the same way and they would have no cause to complain unless they think treating people in that way is unreasonable.

Is the first step, then Permanent.
