I lost track of this thread when the term face shield disappeared from posts and was replaced by articles.
I assume you allude to the lengths of some post. The answers could be: 1. The mod starts to count the number of characters and over a certain level a rating is given and the post is hidden. 2. Readers could see the size of a post before starting to read it and/or read the first few words and then decide if to SKIP or proceed. Less work for the mod and stops the Forum becoming full of hidden posts (I do agree with the off-topic one though, as it has clipped my wings (somewhat) in that respect).
