    I'm not sure if anything was affected. From my desktop I went to the link and it looked like MS wanted me to enroll to one of their services.
    Lazada would have had my cell number and my email in their system.
    I have been getting a lot of advertising for UPS on my FB.

    Haha, yes FB. Rob Braxman, YouTube blogger on internet privacy might say that you have been “zucked”.

    It looks like SFC = Super Fast Charge and
    SFT = Super Fast Charge plus Touch (lcd touch screen). I personally see no value in a touch lcd screen so I would probably go for the less expensive SFC. These are supposed to be interactive, perhaps PC control as I have seen before but all I do is plug it in and leave it alone.

    Anything that uses batteries is on my list of things to avoid.
    If @Rye83 has a good experience with his adventure I might give it a go.
    If you buy a UPS with a 12 volt lead acid battery I'm pretty sure you could swap out the small battery for a large car or truck battery. That would extend the runtime significantly.

    Slightly off topic but I think Rye and Finn may find this interesting.

    If my memory serves me correctly e=Cv^2. So 2.8 volts squared time 3000 farads gives 23,520 Joules of stored energy. For comparison purposes an 8 Amp hour battery at 12 volts should store 345,600 Joules of energy. One day this will replaced d*mn batteries I hope. Charging time is limited by the available current, basically the capacitor can be fully charged in seconds.

    The issue with the super capacitor is, as you might remember, that it starts at a maximum voltage, say you series parallel them to 12V. Immediately as you discharge them, Vmax follows an exponential decline from 12 to 9 to 6 to 3 to 0 but the battery stays pretty close to 12V until it is fully discharged (maybe 11 or so). If it weren’t for that, a super capacitor might be the way to go. So for all practical purposes we are stuck with batteries and fuel cells (actually kind of chemically similar to batteries) for the near future.

    Yes I fully understand that the PWM inverter would have to adjust for the decaying voltage from the capacitors.
    It's not really rocket science to make a appropriate inverter control. I'm surprised it's not available now. Even Lazada is selling Ultra capacitors.

    But either a switching inverter that can handle a highly varying supply voltage or a linear regulator (that can do the same) is 1) inefficient at the higher end of the voltage and 2) expensive, and in either case you will reach a minimum input or supply voltage below which the circuit cannot function. That reduces the energy available in your 1/2CV^2 equation by at least 30% in my estimation. However, that is a one time sacrifice remedied by using larger capacitors. But it does have many Pros. For some reason I haven’t seen any products incorporating this theory probably because using batteries to an AC inverter is cheaper and it would be hard to get people to pay the extra cost for no visible advantage. Most people wouldn’t care about the new technology unless some big advantage were obvious to them. I hear what you are saying but I of course have not worked out the math to determine if the size of the capacitors and available energy as compared to a simple battery (which really does store a relatively large amount of energy) would be practical. I would have to work out a lot more math. Be my guest in doing so! It could go either way as far as I am concerned, at the moment.

    @djfinn6230
    I'm getting your point about cost I corrected my 1/2CV^2 calc.
    It looks like it would take about 30 of those 3000 Farad capacitors to replace an 8 ah battery. That would be 44K pesos to replace a 1000 pesos battery. I guess we will have to wait a while for Ultra capacitors to become widely used.
    That's too bad it's cool technology.
