Trying to figure out if this is a local network issue or an ISP issue. Internet speeds have been slow all day. 1.6Mbs down 9.4Mbs up. Anyone else with FilProducts been having issues today?
I has FilProducts installed yesterday and the technician mentioned that there was a problem with their data backbone and to expect periodic slowdowns; there were no other updates and he could not provide a time when the problems were going to be corrected.
To what location are you conducting your test? It would be interesting to do two 30 day averages. One in country and the other to the USA.
Valencia, yesterday I noticed from 2pm onwards (in town earlier) that Fil Products was terrible the worst the worst I have seen it. Using VPN and Video calls terrible. Both home and shop were the same. Some speed tests were down but actual experience was unusable. At 8 pm streaming Stan on VPN just would not work. Having the two connections in different parts of Valencia with issues makes it easy to determine its not my gear and reading Ryes post confirms it. Seems much better this morning. I wonder if there is some merit in testing the speed when you are on a VPN to the east coast of the US. First screen grab is Fil Prod speedtest second is Silicon Valley connected VPN an then Speedtest which said San Jose when the test was running, ping time as expected but oddly the download is crap and upload is close to the local. So crappy down and good up.
My WiFi tests to Google servers (it is a Google Mesh WiFi network). I do not select the location they test to but I suspect it is not located in the Philippines as the test results seem to reflect actual internet speeds. 10Mbs. Important to note that I do not know when these tests take place. I'm not sure if streaming tv (autoplay is on), music streaming, Facebook videos, smart home devices constantly pinging/updating or updating electronics would bring that number down but I suspect they would. I know I was streaming Netflix during the last speed test since I manually requested one.
