    Hi Billybob, Thank you for your information posted regarding obtaining your visa as a "Parent of a Filipino Child", very interesting as well as helpful.
    When you finally arrive back into Dumaguete can you tell us how you got back, who did you fly with, what route etc and any problems that you might have had after your swab test came back.
    Out of interest what hotel are you staying at in Manila? Would you recommend it, how is the food etc? Good luck with the rest of your quarantine and your journey back here to Duma.

    Obviously this is an opening!

    Maayo Shipping resumed their trips between Cebu and Dumaguete by 8 March. Maayo Shipping reminded the passengers for Cebu bound from Negros Oriental, there will be no documents needed before boarding.
    However, passengers/cargoes bound for for Negros, necessary documents are needed and must be presented to the Coast Guard Office in Liloan, Cebu.
    First trips will start at 6am daily. Minimum health protocol is still a must. Source is (RoyBuzz/HEADZ UP! NegOr News)

    Just got back from a day trip to Cebu. It's like pre-covid at the port. Drive down, buy a ticket and drive on. Both ways. No documentation required whatsoever.

    Thats a bit disconcerting since, according to the Freeman, about CEBU;
    <<By March 6, the highest number of new cases in a day dropped to 172. The city logged 160 new cases on March 1; 151 cases on March 2; 159 cases on March 3; 143 cases on March 4; 172 cases on March 5; and 161 cases on March 6. >>

    And those are NEW cases every day, not just "active cases." Dumaguete is still just lucky, if the city had a big surge, we could be in deep doodoo. To me, the term "critical mass" comes to mind.

    I read a few weeks ago that Cebu decided it would open up fully to protect its economy - no one wants the economic ruin taking place to continue, but the danger here is very real of a Covid disaster. Let us hope not, but time will tell.
