Have you tried walking down the south highway in Bacong/Baniland where there are roadworks. Frigging crazy, there's rocks and soil on the pedestrians side, so if you wanted to get past you have to walk in the road. Or if you wanted you could keep crossing the road. I'm not surprised people opt to travel by a vehicle. I wish it were different, I like walking but where I live it's so dangerous.
As i said in another thread it's great that they are spending money doing road improvements but on the other hand not great the way they do them, they seem to have small groups working on many roads at the same time so the work, hold ups and inconvenience for road users goes on forever. I think if they had larger groups of workers and concentrated one one area at a time they might manage to finish something. The flood canal work beside our place started at the beginning of February and that stretch still not complete yet.
The fact is every country has driving quirks. I've driven across many countries and it's just about getting into the style of local driving, without losing any good habits that you may have from your initial training and experience. It can be scary and frustrating, or scary and exhilarating - depending on which country you're adjusting to - but it all should become normal after a time. If you let it get to you, then don't drive. Heart attack waiting to happen.
We have been thinking of getting a dashcam fitted, does anybody know or recommend a place that does this ?
Scud Auto Service can install. They installed my 360 view camera (4 cameras) and did an ok job. I supervised the entire installation, had to give some input on the side mirror install location and had to do some fine tuning to the camera angles at home but for the price and having never installed a 360 system before they did a decent job. They have an accessory inventory at the shop but not sure if they have dashcams in stock. I ordered my windshield mounted dashcam (different than the 360 cameras) from lazada and installed it myself. Suction cup mounting and just stuffed the cables behind the trim. Plugs into the cigarette outlet. Took about 5 minutes.
As if we the public in UK already risk stepping out on the pavements in British cities, with push bikes and scooters on so called cycle lanes, some being motorised The UK Government have now given a green light to allow "Hired Scooters" permission to hit the streets! This so called environmental mode of transport (some can actually do 30-68 MPH!) is being trialed in a number of cities. Looking towards the future, one doesn't need too greater imagination as to the number of accidents waiting to happen.
Totally agree. Pavements are for walking, i would not even allow jogging in busy town centres, go to the park and do that.
I dont see a issue with e-scoots or electric bikes, and pathways should be duel use as long as it has a lane for both. Safer on the path than the road IMO. However they need to enforce the power, in Aust it is 26kph max for both. Sure some people modify them but we have big fines for resellers selling powerful scoots and bikes. Its the way of the times, use to be skate boards and rolla skates.
