We are OK. Active cases are up to 387, highest it has been, which may indicate the variants may be here. I got no response when I asked if any have been genome sequenced, so I assume none have. We can convert beds to ICU beds, but the good news is none of the 13 ventilators are in use. Expect a few day lag even if it gives a date.

The "Isolation" column shows the total beds available in the isolation ward, the "Census" column shows how many patients are admitted.

Yes. Thanks. I think the NovCov tracker I posted is inaccurate. We've had people on ventilators, but it doesn't show. One young lady told me we have additional ventilators, she just doesn't know how many.

The information posted by the Provincial Government appears to be much more detailed and accurate.

The local hospitals are at about 90% capacity for isolation beds. We can expect that oxygen, ventilators and the staffs ability to manage these types of cases are in proportion to the isolation beds.

Yes, I know. But we can create ICU beds, etc., the real limitation is the number of ventilators. We have no idea how many are in use, or if we have additional beyond the old 13 figure for the Province. I consider it a critical piece of info we don't have, and pretty much all the info sources have gone bad except what we get from PGNO. NegOcc has increased by 600 cases, so I expect cases here will slowly increase. My arbitrary figure of 500 cases should be reached in a week.
BTW, the DOH in Valencia is being cleaned, but my wife signed us up on the vaxx schedule, so there is one.

Well, one big jump to 565 and the variants are here.

Wow a 63% jump in Dumaguete in only two days. Yes there are other factors but even if it is half this much the significant bump may show us that the contact tracing and isolation resources have been overwhelmed.

The contact tracing and isolation efforts had a significant impact on keeping the rate of spread down. Once these efforts are overwhelmed the rate of spread will increase.

Pitifully poor vaccination efforts ... too little, too late. In the WorldWide Covid tracker ranking of countries by vaccination level, out of 200 countries ranked, the Philippines was in 156th place - right next to Namibia and Syria.
