Negorense Ornamental Plant Vendor Association (NOPVA)

If you like looking at or buying plants. There are quite a few different types here.

Negorense Ornamental Plant Vendor Association (NOPVA) at the Sidlakang Negros Village in Piapi. Near Daro market.

I have been wanting to check that out, I go to the nearby farmer's market often.

Plants have become a real cottage industry during the pandemic. My wife has always liked gardening. During this past year the plants have pretty much taken over the porch and front yard. I'm not much of a gardener but it's nice to sit and look at the foliage.

White Angel is a really nice plant, but I suspect your wife already knows it.

No she hasn't heard of white angel. Did you possibly mean Angel Wings which has white flowers that bloom all year round?

Probably the same plant but sellers using different names. There is also 'King Angel', which I was told is the male version and has larger white flowers.

A good resource is: www.philippinegarden.net.

This is very interesting: https://myphilippinelife.com/philippine-trees-and-garden-flowers/

I have photos of flowering plants I had previously but cannot find them!

This is one of a sunbird on a tall White Angel (flowers not shown) - attracting birds and other fauna is a further advantage of growing flowering plants.

Yes that looks pretty much like the one in the garden.
Sometimes I think they just make up the names on the fly.

They do! And I don't think many know much about the plants - I bought 'Love and Devotion' (superb flowers) and was told it would grow quite compact, but with a few months it had gone wild.

I moved my bougainvillea into large pots and found they grew more foliage than flowers - but I notice lots of bougainvillea around my area with masses of flowers but in small pots. I assume that is the best way (does your wife have experience of that?) as some plants respond to stress (e.g. cramped conditions) by producing more flowers as a means of survival.

My wife has the bougainvillea in large pots (about 15 liters), she says direct sunlight is best. She plans to graft some of the different coloured branches to make a rainbow . plant.
Some plants like a Manalo (massive giant leafy thing) are from the juggle and demand shade. We had a beautiful one. After two days in the sun it almost died. It took a year to recover.
