Word of mouth had me hot footing it down to Valencia LGU Gym this morning, and I got the first shot of Aztrazeneca. They were vaxxing Senior Citizens. Chica chica is many frontliners were quarantined, so they moved to Senior Citizens. There were a lot of people that showed up later and it's unclear if everyone is getting vaxxed today. Some of what went on is humorous, expats are predictable (including me). Met a very nice fellow, and a very patient older lady. No reaction so far. I'm happy and kudos to the very understanding and professional staff.
That's good to hear. My daughter-in-law got the sinovac vaccine about a month ago in Bacong as she is a midwife at the birthing clinic there. You mentioned the words senior citizen. Are you Filipino or did they do foreigners to?
It's in the best interest of everyone that the vaccine should be given/ offered to all age groups in rotation starting with all elderly or most vulnerable people first, irrespective of Nationality, for the good of all. At least that is something our UK government got right! However, what is now raising it's ugly head is the Indian variant, partly due to the low numbers of the Asian community,accepting the vaccine here. Lessons to be learnt.
I agree with what your country is doing however in the Philippines things can become nationalistic at times. That's why I asked if foreigners were included in the vaccine rollout.
Understood SP, Just hope the Philippines learns from other Countries mistakes and were possible those seeking the vaccines have the opportunity collectively or privately to be vaccinated as soon as possible. Take care regards JB

Got my second dose of Sinovac here in Alfonso, Cavite today. All residents, foreigners and expats treated the same, professional and friendly staff. I saw zero signs of xenophobia. The Filipino difference was that we were scheduled at various times through the day up till 5pm. When I arrived at my appointment time of 1:30 I was the last one to get the shot. Everyone else had turned up at the 8am start and waited.
There was no schedule at mine. I got there first, then an older woman showed up. Some people knew it started at 9am. I would point to the older woman and say she's first, that worked, as she went first and I went second. The staff didn't expect a lot of people, so no planning for a crowd. Everyone I talked to found out by word of mouth. So there was confusion, people jockeying for place, crowding around in certain areas, one filipina trying to sign up her friends that hadn't arrived yet, expats explaining how it should be done, the whole gamut. Three stations, paperwork, shot, 20 minute wait for release once it started, vary rapid. Then I had to move bikes blocking my wife's Bajaj. Fairly normal.
