Has anyone here had the bad disc steroid injection for a bad disc and did it help? If so doctors name how much did it cost and how long did it relieve the pain??? TY
Had severe leg pain when I was in the military. I guess a disc was pestering a nerve. The army doctor massaged my lower back with ice. When the pain disappeared…he pushed one leg to my chest while bending the knee. This was done 10 times on each leg. Then he pushed both legs…to my chest 10 times. Then I repeated the procedure by pulling the legs to my chest with both hands. I had to do this once a day for a long time. I still do this exercise. Was never prescribed any medication. Was running again in a few months. This worked for me…I’m not saying this will work for you. .
It's a big risk - different back problems have different treatments. What can ameliorate one issue can worsen another, sometimes drastically. I had a family member who went to a chiropractor in the UK. He did a treatment which he told her he would never do if the patient had a slipped disc. It turned out she did have a slipped disc and the chiropractor's 'treatment' put her off work for 6 months. A professional got it very wrong and a non-professional self-treating might never walk again.
I DO EXCERCISES MOST MORNINGS AND ONE VERY SIMILAIR TO THAT WILL TRY IT ALSO JUST A PAIN IN THE LOWER BACK THATS BUGS ME AND KEEPS ME FROM BEING 100 % I USE ICE WHICH REALLY HELPS ALSO I AM GENERALLY OK OTHERWISE BUT WAS CURIOUS ABOUT THE SHOT
After my back operation, when I had back pain I would open a door and hang onto both door handles and squat down. Seemed to help, still do it occasionally.
As no-one has specifically reported having this for a lumbar disc, I can only say that I had steroid injections for frozen shoulders - seem to work amazingly (I say "seem" as some things resolve naturally anyway) and solved the problem permanently. It was in the UK - so were free!
