My understanding is that the positivity rate is the percentage of positive results. In this case (488 positive results) divided by (4,253 total tests) * 100 = 11.5% rounds up to 12% positivity rate. How did you get 28% positivity rate?
NOPHML is our lab. I used our figures, not overall figures. I'm interested in *our* rate, not an overall rate.
When have you ever heard of a random general population percent here? https://www.jhsph.edu/covid-19/articles/covid-19-testing-understanding-the-percent-positive.html
Yes, most Euro countries have gone to >45 for the shot. Notice the teen was female? The cases are mostly under 45 and female I've read, though I haven't seen a breakdown, just warnings.
Fact check: WHO released guidance on proper use of tests; it did not admit PCR tests showed inflated infection numbers By Reuters Staff 7 Min Read Social media users have been sharing screenshots purporting that the World Health Organization (WHO) released guidance to laboratories and incorrectly saying this was to reduce the positive test result count in PCR (polymerase chain reaction) COVID-19 tests. The social media users claim the WHO’s guidance amounted to an admission that the current PCR tests were inflating COVID-19 infection number. This claim is false. The WHO’s guidance was meant to remind labs to conduct the tests with the instructions provided in order to ensure accuracy in the results. (Around the same time it advised the number of cycles used be included on the sheet given to the patient and Doctors, since the Doc needs the info) https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-who-instructions-pcr-guidan-idUSKBN2A429W
I got the Sinovac injection in Bacong this morning. Went to the gym, no problems, but I seem to have a craving for Chow King, Chin Loong, and Tsingtao beer
