    I don't know.
''You have to put 10K US dollars in a bank account and have your pension deposited here''...

It is not required to have your pension deposited here in the Philippines, You just have to prove your pension when applying for the SRRV.

''It cost about 18K a year but you can pay 3 years at a time''.

That rule changed earlier this year, you can only pay annually now.

Or a Christian country can scrape together a tiny bit of compassion for people who, although not citizens, religion would include as Sons of their own God.

Hmm, I seem to have one more possible escape (but need to verify with the Bureau of Immigration) for my visa run next spring.
This application form seems to be an option (necessity?) to secure a special return certificate before even leaving the Philippines, which will supposedly help to get back in according to this list (at the bottom). Together with my marriage certificate from the Netherlands that might be enough to get back in (note that the official list of exemptions makes no mention of the marriage needing to be one under Philippine law (better not fly with Philippine Airlines though).

There is no more 3 year cards. Annual renewal is the only one at present.

Why don't you just both fly out for a vacation in Hong Kong (or some other exotic destination and return as Balikbayans. one-year Balikbayan Stamp and start another 3 years as a tourist after that if needed.

True AussieBob as that is what I will be doing in the next coming 2 years. Before exiting with the Wife make sure your not exiting into a Country that may or may not be restricted by the Philippines for arrival from. Currently 20 plus Countries yah do not want to land in (some Asian also) or yah may be stuck their for some time.

I cannot believe that the BI does not have the sense, balls or whatever else it takes to waive this 3 year rule during this pandemic.
I have just got a 13a visa and was told that sometime during the next year i must go to Cebu BI to give my fingerprints (it cant be done in Dumaguete)
I argued that during the application process for the 13a i had to go to the NBI and give fingerprints with ink and computer scan so why cant the BI use them ?
Answer because they are a different department HORSESHIT.
Let's have people doing unnecessary travel in the middle of a never ending pandemic, must make sense to someone.

I was taking to friend in the UK who wants to marry a foreigner and he was worried about what happens to her if he dies before she gets to citizenship. I informed him to check but from my past knowledge they will treat her Visa time as fully completed.

Here if a Filipino spouse dies the Marriage Visa is torn up (I understand). And the house has to be sold within 6 months (in the current market???) or go to the relatives of the deceased spouse. This is what I read before - so correct me if I am wrong.

One country knows compassion and another country thinks it's putting a dog on a 13 inch leash instead of a 12 inch one.

Yeah, good point and a Will between the Filipino whom marries a Foreigner, many don't know must be registered VIA a Philippines Court. Good reading here at link for those not understanding the short end of the stick a Foreigner can expect.
