If the indoor sports (not your personal kind) are going to be on ongoing restriction, perhaps one of the gym owners could set up an outdoor facility with tarp or some kind of sun and rain block on the top. One of the plazas on the water walkway would work and provide a breeze. The owner would then have some income (but would need a big wig sponsor). Of course the city would have to approve - call it a temporary part of the new city situation. Time to think outside the box on health and happiness. Yes, unlike what they do now, the gym employees would have keep the place clean and rust prevention. Someone could set up a protein shake bar, massage tables, vaccinations for those interested. Sell tee shirts, etc. So,,, sounds good, looking forward to joining.

I don't know what kind of equipment you use at the gym but you can get a basic home gym setup (squat/bench press rack with a high/low pulley system, bench, barbell and plates) for around 30-40k.

Surprised nobody hasn't thought of that before now Pat, its a good idea, doesn't necessarily need gym equipment, just some basic stuff.
The public park close to were we live in UK has a circuit of all weather stuff free, but someone willing to give up their free time to encourage others around the Dumaguete area to keep fit or get fit, would I'm sure benefit those with time on the hands due to the Covid situation.
Hope the Mayor takes up your idea. Take care stay safe regards John

I believe the park in Valencia has dip, monkey and pull-up bars. Behind the tennis court.
