Yes Rye83, Filproducts went down the other night Valencia brownout 6.50pm they remained off until the following afternoon at 3pm, there FB post stated a burned portion of fiber Optic Distribution, not sure if this caused the brownout or was caused by the brownout as it was the exact same time.
Then also last night, brownout in Balugo Filproducts went down. I can normally check if the power is out in my shop in Bong-ao by using cellular to check the security cameras, internet was on at the beginning of the brownout and later died after 30 minutes. I confirmed power stayed on but internet went down so something is not right with their local battery or genset backup since this first event.

    Filproducts FB Post:
Our FTTH subscribers in Dumaguete City and Valencia are experiencing connectivity issues as of 6:50 PM of September 09, 2021 due to burned portion of our Fiber Optic Distribution Network located in Camanjac, Dumaguete City.
    Areas affected are as follows:
    ○ Dumaguete City
    Camanjac
    Candau-ay
    Cantil-e
    Talay
    Balugo
    ○ Valencia Internet/Cable Distribution Area
We would like to assure our subscribers that our technical team is working to resolve the issue that has resulted in the loss of Cable and Internet connection in the abovementioned areas.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I have a UPS and have only experienced internet connectivity issues during the previous 2 to 3 brownouts. Prior this I had internet connection during brownouts. Something has changed and I'm not a fan of it. I have also been getting very slow speeds since their last outage in Valencia. Gf works from home...and I need my streaming services during her working hours...and I need a constant connection (30mbs minimum) even during brownouts. If this continues I will be looking to change ISPs as using my Globe and Google Fi mobile data is unsustainable.

I don't expect these brownouts to stop anytime soon. Has anyone been maintaining an internet connection during these recent brownouts?

Well it seems the brownout caused by this reasonable amount of rain (around 10:30pm) didn't result in the internet going out. I'm not sure what to make of it. I guess it is just your standard sh*tty inconsistent Filipino infrastructure BS.

After the power cut we had during the night a few days ago i had to re-enter the router password to all our devices to get our PLDT fibre to work again, that's never happened before, still can't get the printer to work wireless again :bag:

The 15 hour internet outage (return next morning) on PLDT Fibre was indeed due to a burned pole in Camanjac. FilProducts either has it's own fibre on the same pole, or uses PLDT's, which i believe is the case. The chuckle (or tears, however it affects you), is that when we called PLDT FIBRE customer service in manila (171), they said "NO OUTAGE in Dumaguete," but when we went to PLDT in Robinsons later on an unrelated problem, a sign in the window said "Outage due to burned pole." Right hand / left hand.... Typical. Also no password problem. Just rebooted modem/ router and all devices...
