Okay, lessons learned. Don't make the trip out of province a family vacation. Not these days. Don't take the wife and kids to Cebu City. Don't take them with you to the immigration office, leave them at the hotel. Choose a family-owned hotel, or at least not one where the ownership is far removed from management. Stay outside Cebu City itself, in Mandaue or some place. The city will have stricter safety measures, it's the guv who is a dope. (Does not necessarily apply to Negros Or.) And why are he and the wife not vaccinated? They should be asked and hindered at every turn. And finally, wait if possible for the air link to resume. Even from Cebu airport in a taxi, there can be an hour or two delay with traffic.

According to the youtube video posted on page 2 apart from the misery of a long journey in an emcor 3 wheeler the guy said that because of roadworks it took around 7 hrs to drive from the ferry to Cebu City.

Does anyone seriously know why the BI insist that you need to travel to Cebu to give biometric data that the NBI already have ?

Thanks - it is what I suspected BUT could not think they are so stupid.

So the logic is that if you have loads of cases it is fine to add even more! That is nonsense.

Equal nonsense that I heard from a Filipino family yesterday is that the husband has proved positive and has been told to quarantine for 14 days - his family living in the same house has NOT been told to quarantine! Hey ho - let the virus go to the other family members and let them be the ones who spread it. Sounds laughable except that this is a serious matter and they seem not to have a clue.

Because they can .... (plus the fact they don't think - brains get seized up at birth due to the climate and remain that way for life).
