Will we see a return to normal life after covid?
Can we ever achieve peace throughout the world?
Is it possible that we can make difference to Climate change?
Whatever your opinions maybe, would be interesting to hear, so share you thoughts wishes and hopes for 2022.
Wishing everybody a Peaceful and Merry Festive end to a year of uncertainty.
    Stay safe, God bless.......JB

Will we see a return to normal life after covid?................................No.
Can we ever achieve peace throughout the world?...........................No
Is it possible that we can make difference to Climate change?.........It's doable but it is only a guise to blame over population. Military industrial complex has other plans.

Latest thoughts from some scientists is that the Covid virus may be starting to mutate into a less deadly dominant version that we can live with. Omicron may well be that (early days). Sure others more qualified here can give more detailed views, but it seems that's the way most viruses mature. If that happens over the next 12 months or so, with current vaccinations too, yep, I can see life returning pretty much back to normal, whatever that is. It will just become something else we live with. We are creatures of habit and will want to return to our normal routines, but there's bound to be some subtle changes in human behaviour after this blows over.

Halting climate change won't happen to any extent until we are on the brink, as that's the way the world tends to work.

Don't have a prayer for the rest, as good as they would be.

Too early for Christmas greetings, but wishing all good health.

    Post-Covid: Don't think it'll "go away", because
    a. rich countries still seem unwilling to take the bull by the horns and help to get vaccines to everyone (the "nobody is safe until we're all safe" thing), and
    b. too many hardheaded anti-vaxers around.
Peace: Yes we will, some day in the distant future. At some point of development people elsewhere will recognize that what happened in Europe after WW2 (76 years no war thanks to cooperation) is a good example to follow (even with Brexit throwing some sand in the peace engine for now).
Climate: The heart of the problem is
    a. part capitalism striving for profit now/tomorrow with no consideration for the environment as long as customers can be found for their product, and
    b. many politicians not really interested in anything that's going to have effect after the next election.
So yeah, we'll be late/very late/too late to do something substantial about it.
Especially concerning is that the warning signals that the planet gives us are not strong enough to convince the masses that we need to act decisively yesterday.
Many still ridicule the scientific evidence today.
I am not desperate though, I still have hope that science will ultimately provide a way out of the runaway greenhouse issue, if politicians and the public act decisively within the next decade.

I think this misses a huge contributing factor: developing countries developing. The West has theirs, now they don't want the rest of the world to come up to their level while still wanting developing countries to continue producing cheap goods for them. It just isn't going to happen. Most everyone wants the Western lifestyle of excess, security and comfort. There has to be losers for there to be winners and the losers, understandably, always want to improve their lot in life. Human created climate change has basically zero chance of being stopped.

How does this comment work with keeping the peace? and Brexit is doing just fine without the EC straitjacket unelected Nazis. Shove your EC where the sun don't shine.
Climate change, yes we can make a difference it won't be easy but doable.
