Acc. to Ocean Jets Facebook page they will change time tables via Tagbilaran soon.

"OceanJet will soon offer connecting trips.

    Cebu - Tagbilaran - Dumaguete
    Cebu to Tagbilaran | 8:20 a.m.
    Tagbilaran to Dumaguete | 10:40 a.m.
    Dumaguet - Tagbilaran - Cebu
    Dumaguete to Tagbilaran | 1:00 p.m.
    Tagbilaran to Cebu | 3:20 p.m."

Now this would be an improvement!

This is the trip that they had before the pandemic, nicest way to go, beats the bus and not much longer than flying. Biz inside or economy outside. Previous schedule years ago had no boat change in Tagbilaran. Arrive downtown Cebu, always use meter in a taxi, the verbal "deal" is always more than the meter...

What is the trip like - is it very choppy? I have been to Siquijor and many passengers seem a bit queasy on that voyage.

All depends on the weather, and the size of the boat. Obviously, the smaller the boat (fastcraft Sibulan-Santander Liloan Port and the fastcraft between Dumaguete and Siquijor) the more susceptible to people getting sick in choppy seas, but even the barges that take cars and trucks on these routes aren't impervious to choppy seas. I have done each of these multiple times and recall only one occasion (on the fastcraft from Siquijor) where multiple people got sick.
The trip to Bohol I have done just once (and back) in calm seas, so obviously no problems, but I must assume that that trip is more susceptible to choppy waters than the shorter trips to Cebu and Siquijor, because it passes through more open water.

Maybe i'm stating the obvious, but when you consider getting to the airport in sibulan versus the port of duma, and how far ahead you have to arrive, and then getting off the plane and getting from mactan airport to cebu when the ocean jet arrives and you're in a taxi in 10 min for a 10 min taxi to ur hotel, i don't think the boat is more than a couple hours longer. Certainly more relaxing and less stressful if you like boat rides. .....
As far as choppy, I tend to agree with Dutchie.. But you gotta define "choppy." Not too bad, i've done it maybe 4 times, but i'm comparing it to 30 foot waves on the quarter on a 16,620 tonner transatlantic 62 yrs ago. If you get seasick, skip the ferry fo' sho'.. Lake Balinsasayao it ain't.. <grin>..
