In fact, the human race has been a total disaster for this planet. Some experts say there cannot be any other intelligent life form in the Universe - I question the use of the word 'other' and I hope that if any exist and they can get here soon then go ahead, you cannot be worse than what exists now.

I see my little daughter and have to disagree, but I do understand the reasoning. So many likely thought that the employment of nuclear weapons against Japan would have ensured they'd never be used again, and yet, here we are. If Russia threatens nukes for helping Ukraine, which they have, we're not going to be able to step back from that brink without calling the bluff, or finding out it wasn't a bluff after all. Actually, I suppose it is possible to kick the can down the road, in effect forestalling the inevitable, but it happening at some point is a certainty to me. Each kick of the can will make it more likely until it does in fact happen.

I think for Putin, defeat in Ukraine is not an option, however if and when Ukraine has the ability to send missiles into Russia, thats when it will be the deciding factor.

Russia claimed Ukraine hit fuel points inside Russia over a month ago. No telling if this actually happened, if this "cross border attack" was actually Ukrainian territory occupied by Russia, if it was an accident self inflicted by Russian military incompetence, or some other Russian reimagining of the truth.

True Rye, no telling if it was sabotage or incompetence, I do have reason to believe it was on Russian soil. I have wondered about two things in this war, why Ukraine have not attacked targets either in Crimea or indeed the bridge that Russia built between the two, which was mentioned in a previous posting by NMRN.

I believe they destroyed the supply of fresh water to Crimea. The bridge I'm not certain of but I suspect it is not as easy to destroy as one might think. It is a very small/narrow target and likely built to stand up against smaller munitions since Russia built it after their occupation of Crimea.
