In a lot of countries in SEA, houses do a well and pump the water up. Is that an option in Dumaguete?

I agree with Stefan_Negros............ as many I know have drilled their own well and not to deep of one. A few feet down and there she be! Connect a pump (hand or electrical) and water is then no problem.

We have our own water, deep well, 2000 l
We have our own deep-well 50ft deep and a 1 HP pump it up to a 2000 liter tank on the third floor, problem with the water though it's got silt in and staining the showers and toilets, even with filters a lot of silt gets through.

Drilling your own well doesn't mean you will be a rich man at all.

It just gives you kind of independence. That's all.

I like independence knowing you can never get it entirely. But having a well, solar panels as well as a powerful generator means you will suffer much later in case of emergency.

    I don't know.
Maybe there is something to lose? contaminants from adjacent Septic tanks, I believe there is a rule that a Well has to be 30mtrs from any Septic, if that is a PH building Reg. I would increase this half again just to be on the safe side? then what happens in the vacant lot next door when someone buys and builds on that, that could feck you up?

    Yes, you are right.

Depending where your lot is located you should think twice before you use it for drinking and cooking.

I assume a solution could be to use your water from the well for your pool, watering the flowers, for showering and toilet.

Our drinking water we are buying from a small shop in Valencia. This blue canisters, I think 25 Liter each.

    For us it works fine.
