Hi anyone know if there is a good gym with aircon around the city centre and approximate costs? I can get a trike if I need to though so outside the city centre is an option as well. I generally go to gym at least 5 days a week.

A good gym from my point of view is at least 100 kgs of assorted free weights, treadmill, and on my wish is a smith machine (I know that may not be pssible).

Just googled (fitness center Dumagete) and about a dozen or so popped up. Only suggest you choose the one with the most stars and or best reviews. Call ahead as not to waste your time at someone trying to lock you in to a long term Membership unless that is what your looking for. Best of luck!

The Majority I looked over are open, Read that some even have showers (that's a bonus)
    - I do know also that it has become a habit for 2 to 3 Gals popping into Gym's for a few hours and the interest is hooking up with a a Foreigner over burning off that Adobo... so beware! Have 3 Friends to date that met their Asawa in a Gym...... all 3 ain't working out no @more......... fun in the Philippines.

When 4 C's gym on Siliman closed, some of us switched to Yesh gym in Dauin. They have expanded the gym and added a coffee cafe. No zircon but lots of fans and up the hill a ways so a good breeze. Probably to far out for you, but a good choice for those living south of the city.

Put together my own in the spare bedroom of my apartment. A decent squat rack with Olympic barbell, plate add-ons (gives around around 180-200kg of plates), and adjustable dumbbells (upgraded mine from 20kg/dumbbell to 40kg) cost me around 20k. P3500 for delivery from Manila to my door.

Quick update on this thread. I joined Multifit Gym today for 2 weeks. Cost was 900 pesos. Gym is airconditioned but still fairly humid, no showers. It has 2 levels one is aerobic with treadmills and the other is weights. I just used the weights level. It has plenty of free weights and machines. It is a bit cramped but equipment and weights are in excellent condition. It will suit 95% of gym junkies  I visited 2 other gyms but they were not open. I would definitely recommend the gym. They have a trainer onsite. For those wishing to learn how to do exercises and get setup with a routine. I didn’t ask how much he charges.

Apologies but another quick update. I went to the 2nd floor of the Multifit Gym today. It was impressive with aerobic equipment like treadmills, rower and bikes as well as a large assortment of weight training machines (I never use these but they are popular). Aircon is much better on this floor. It has a stretch area as well.

There is also a rooftop restaurants above this and it seemed popular. I didn’t eat there but relaxed with a protein shake I bought there. It has been difficult to find protein drinks in the shops here so that was a nice surprise.
