Not sure if right area, if not Admin move it.

Had a detached retina operation very recently. Was going to go to Cebu but found an excellent surgeon in Bacolod. She's trained in Canada, I'm very happy with the results. Not something to take lightly so I did my research and think I was lucky to have found her.

Started here diagnose wise but no one had the ability to work skill for the procedure.

Do you have to go back for eye examinations after the eye operation?

    • I was wondering about that too! I was wondering about that too! x 2

Yes going back early May, had an examination after so stayed there as journey back involved air pressure not acceptable flight or mountains. She wanted to see the eyes condition which made sense. There was the mentioned of possible laser work but we'll see. I've no concerns as in good hands. One's eyes are after all, all important. It's likely it's age related generally, you can just be unlucky.

    Garcia,
Maybe you could name the Lady who did the Eye Operation if you are recormmending her.
I myself am awaiting a Cornea Operation, they are reluctant to to operate while my other eye remains good, I have been told the virus which caused the damage in the first place may return!
Curious as to the approximate cost for the operation if you have no objection to telling.....cheers JB

    Hi John,
    Here is the link

I don't use FB so it came up other searches.
The hospital is new, their reviews tbh put me off but I took that as teething problems. Her reviews very positive, care and training in Canada before hand and attention when meeting up first hand were what mattered in my final deciding. You do obviously take your chances no matter where and what you read on line. Dumaguete was not a choice period, Cebu might well be OK but IMO it perhaps seemed a bit business orientated.

As a matter of interest, is it not possible to travel from Bacolod via the coastal route? I was thinking about enjoying the scenery but with one eye out of commission, you would not want to strain the other one and I suppose once you've seen one heap of tin and plywood huts blocking sea views, you've seen them all. I was thinking of doing that journey but, as with most things, I never did.
