Was there any valid reason for the disapproval ? Did the in charge just hate foreigners ? Same old story, they hate us but they love our money. More racism.
To be honest, I don't think there's many foreigners paying income tax in the Philippines, so it does make sense to me that the (government funded) senior citizen rebates don't include foreigners. I'm already happy that we can skip the waiting lines in many cases.
I maybe don't pay any income tax but there's a good reason for that, i don't have any income. What i do have though is a lot of money transferred and spent here as i have gave much employment to workers building the three houses we have built here.
I think there may be some misunderstanding re the basis of the discount. I was also quoted a 'senior discount' for eye surgery in a Dumaguete clinic. No 'Senior Discount Card' was mentioned by me, or them. If there are businesses choosing to give discounts to seniors for commercially motivated reasons, then that's their prerogative, surely. You can't be arrested for accepting an unsolicited discount.
Town halls, Municipalities and LG's will process a Seniors card to a Foreigner! System is just busted on both ends. It is on the Foreigner to know the law. The Law is a Foreigner cannot avail the card. To do so, you will be risking the future here in the Phils. This again has been discussed numerous time's. A Foreigner may only use the card for line up ques. There is no other *but if's about the issue at this time. Hopefully President Marcos can implement the approval of a Foreigner to be eligible to use the card in it's full capacity.
Ok. But retinal detachment can have many forms and can involve blindness in that eye. I had assumed that on the way back you had already had surgery and if that was invasive you would rely for some time on the good eye. People need to be aware that retinal detachment is classed as a medical emergency as delay can cause loss of sight. The main signs are: The sudden appearance of many floaters — tiny specks that seem to drift through your field of vision Flashes of light in one or both eyes (photopsia) Blurred vision Gradually reduced side (peripheral) vision A curtain-like shadow over your field of vision
