I often watch old movies as i grow tired of the same old, same old fodder always featuring an ex seal or SAS who is unstoppable, bullet proof and has the ability to procure fake documents and military grade equipment in any country they me be in.
Last night i watched the original Cape Fear 1962 black and white with Robert Mitchum and Gregory Peck, great movie.

I was waiting for another's opinion. Glad you enjoyed it. I found the acting, editing, music, and originality of the entire Movie to be simply outstanding and in a class of it's own.

Those of you who like great foreign films of an earlier era, Two I can recommend are "Jean de Florette" and the sequel
"Manon of the Spring" a great character study taking place in Provencial France of the 1960s

Saw those decades ago but the mood of those films have always stuck in my mind.

Many movies I see now are okay but the next day I have to ask my wife to remind me what it was about!

I also watch so many series that I forget which good ones I saw (I think all these things I have just written makes me wonder if I am now senior!!!) - but just finished "Shrinking" and was impressed. Most series take an episode or two to get into them. Another good one is "American Crime Story" which covers the O. J. Simpson trial from the trial aspect. the Versace murder via the murderer's story (which is far more complex than just the Versace killing) and the Clinton-Lewinsky Impeachment (not seen that one yet but I already know it depends on what you call sex! I have often wondered that myself).

A good one that I remember about cool films...Cool hand Luke. Casting Paul Newman, eats 50 hard boiled eggs in 1 hour. Legend.

Never watched that many movies of late, so only just adding this to page 5 .
While waiting for my wife outside her dept, I put the radio on and the presenter was chatting away and he mentioned a film coming on TV Thursday night at 11pm.
Not able to sleep, (I was due an operation yesterday morning ) I flick on the tv and it was just starting, it held my attention the whole way through........
