I just read this in the news, NEW Tory immigration plans intended to cut the number of migrants by 300,000 a year could risk splitting up families already living in the UK. People across the UK could see foreign partners told to leave the country the next time their visa comes up for renewal if their household does not earn £38,700, No 10 has said. Home Secretary James Cleverly (below) announced a number of policies designed to cut migration figures earlier this week.
Yes as I said, the overwhelming majority of British people. I would not expect anyone on this site to welcome this?
I guess PM Richard Sunak's wife will be OK then. I am assuming that a new ruling is for the future Job seekers with dependants, otherwise the likes of the NHS will collapse all together! Would be interesting as to which jobs with a salary of £38,700 are available and with what degree of skill they entail.
I would think that's before Tax and other deductions......... View attachment upload_2023-12-7_13-29-39.png
Correct - in the same way they would see anyone with a fiver in the bank lose all their money in a government 'haircut'. PROVIDED they have less than a fiver themselves. If they are not affected then they don't care and if they have even the tiniest of benefit from it then they doubly don't care.
The Tories - and other politicians - will always be okay and that is why they entered politics. When the Tories came into power and started attacking immigrants (how did that work out when there are now 500,000 a year more???) they made a rule that if you employ an illegal then you get a hefty fine. One of their own Ministers employed one - I am not sure she received a fine as they make the rules and then break them with impunity.
I think this is shocking. They could reduce the numbers of imported workers vastly if they bothered to set up training schemes for those UK citizens who want to work and then force the idle barstewards into work. Also, stop counting students as they come and they go (most of them!). The last thing to attack should be the family - and to make those who spent thousands and are halfway through their Visa to leave is just inhuman (but that describes Tories anyway). It seems they want to drive out UK citizens from their own countries. I have a feeling this might be challenged in the Courts - certainly the plan to force people out halfway through their Visa process and perhaps the Human Rights issue of ensuring that only the very wealthy can stay in the UK with their spouses and the rest have to leave. This will affect low paid workers and pensioners with low savings - guess which groups Tories do NOT belong to??? Will Labour reverse any of it? Not sure as they know what the majority of the UK public wants and the UK public (as in most countries) is self-interested.
