Australia and Canada have had a policy of choosing who they allow into their countries for years long before the current situation in Britain, why should we be any different? As far as I know any illegal immigrants can be returned to the country they have just arrived from. It has just been stated how many £millions has been passed to Rwanda to accommodate"refugees" who land on Britains shores illegally. While I have pity for their plight, we cannot continue to accommodate the high numbers arriving, even people here with visas legally cannot expect whole families to be accomodated, unless they are earning enough to provide for them, without extra burden to the public purse. One interesting statement made by the Rwandan Opposition person Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza said during her interview on the BBC Hardtalk last night was The Rwandan people are already living through hard times and of course they would resent any refugees being given sanctuary sent from Britain ( paraphrased ) Worth a look at the programme " Hardtalk" on BBC Iplayer HARDtalk - Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza: What do Rwandans think of the migrant transfer deal with the UK? - BBC Sounds

I agree with immigration controls because you simply cannot fit a quart into a pint pot - BUT to allow people to spend a fortune on Visas for 2.5 years, set up roots and occupations, and then cut them off is obscene. There are other ways to control immigration that are more reasonable.
