I have been looking at getting starlink as over the last few months our PLDT connection has gone from not good to unbearably bad. It seems that if you want to use a third party router and not the one that comes with the 28,000php kit then you need to buy a 33,000php kit which comes with the adaptor required to let you do this. 5,000php for an adaptor Oh and the best bit, the 33,000 one is out of stock
I've had Starlink for about 9 months now and gradually expanded the set-up. The kit is P28k but the ethernet adaptor to allow a 3rd party router is only P3200. So now I have a full mesh set-up (3 routers) to cover the whole house without blind spots, and a 3rd party router to extend coverage to our other house next door and to the gate 80m+ away. So I have coverage anywhere on our plot. On Christams eve we had 30+ guests, most on wifi and no issues. Total downtime runs at about 1-2 minutes per month and speed is consistantly averaging 200Mbps - occasionally down to 80 but also has hit over 300. Initial outlay is expensive yes but it's still only P2700/month for a totally unlimited, reliable and consistant system. Thanks Elon is all I have to say.
3200php is the price for the adapter from the Starlink store. You can get a generic one on Amazon for about $48. Ships free with orders over $49. I just checked my monthly statement and the service is 2700php
Thanks for the info, the prices i quoted was from the Silicon Valley store website, they sell starlink at SM malls but the nearest one is Cebu and they are out of stock. The reason i wanted to buy from them is that when i try to order starlink online my address is not recognised.
I had the same issue with my address. If you do it on the Starlink website it will give you a type of grid reference (plus code) for your location, you can confirm the address given by checking its location on Google Earth or Maps. You can then adjust it (move the arrow to your location) or confirm it as correct and their system will accept it as your address id which it then associates with your "proper" address. Make sure you also input a valid cellphone no. that you can be contacted on as on every occasion the courier has called me on the day of delivery and you can confirm your address and give them directions as necessary. In general orders take about 3-4 weeks from date of order and delivery is by DHL. My last order came via DHL-Air Express-J & T but was still here within 4 weeks. Hope this helps
HELP, Trying to order starlink, what a way to fill in a day It took many many attempts to finally get the website to accept my address then the excitement mounted as we finally got to the payment details but the very last line asks for PCN, have a UK credit card and as far as i know it does not have a PCN and i have never been asked for one before so i left it blank and pressed pay, i received the code to authorise payment by text from my credit card company and entered it but the next page came up payment not accepted. To start with i was going to use the debit card i have from a local bank here but it does not have a PCN either. So can any of you kind gentlemen that have starlink tell me what you put in the PCN line ? I checked my credit card online and the payment was showing as pending, would that happen if the payment was not accepted ?
If you turn your card over it will show 3 numbers, I believe this is what they are asking for having said that I found this for you ***** Can I order Starlink without PCN? No contracts, 30-day trial. PhilSys Card Number (PCN) is optional Shipping times are currently estimated to be 2-3 weeks from order.Feb 22, 2023 ***
The Silicon Valley store at sm mall at cebu seaside was OOS.. The Silicon Valley store at the Ayala Mall in cebu has 4 or so 'kits' available as of 4/23. They only sell the basic kits and "internet adaptors," not any other side items (like mesh router extenders)...
