Food handling at the big stores.
Checking out with my mixed cart of Raw meats and dairy food.
Good they give you a metal container to put your raw meat in while they check your items in.
Not so good when they put your dairy products in the same metal container.
Not so good when they mix raw meat with dairy products, even if they are in plastic bags. This is all the big stores even the one opposite Silliman.
Am I being a tad fussy?

Pictures? Have you not been shopping? It happens all the time I have to take the food out and separate the meat from the dairy and cooked meat.

Cross contamination can happen, have you ever had the runs (diarrhea)?

When they put your meat in the tray I suspect it's to keep their work area dry.

As IF they have a clue!

My wife TELLS them NOT to put other products in the tray - only raw meat. This applies even if she has not bought any raw meat because, of course, that bowl is already contaminated from previous users. She hands the cashier the other products and then the cashier hands it directly to the packer.

BUT, of course, the cashier and packer already have contaminated hands (including from handling cash)!

It is likely that in most countries, food is handled in supermarkets and restaurants by people with contaminated hands.

My memory is fading fast, what did the British supermarkets do? regarding raw meat.

    • I was wondering about that too! I was wondering about that too! x 1

They sold it really fast because a good Veterinarian could possibly get it back on it's feet!
