Exit Clearance Validity question

Hi,

just want to ask about the validity because I am confused about it. It read here in the forum the ECC is valid for 30 days but how? Its depending on your flight out of the PH? If I will fly on 1st Dec, how it will be valid for 30 days, could I fly also on the 29th Dec?

I just need a ECC A (saying here since more the 2 years) and researching about it.

An ECC is valid for 30 days from the date of issue. If you depart the country within those 30 days then no problem. If your departure is later than the 30 days from date of issue, you applied too early and you will not be allowed to depart as the ECC is no longer extant and you'll need to get another. Once you depart the country your ECC is "used" and therefore no longer extant. For instance: You apply for an ECC on 27th November and it's issued on 29th November - you must depart the Philippines by 29th December. If you Depart 1st December no problem. If you try to depart 0n 30th December your ECC is no longer valid and you'll need to get another one before they will allow you to depart.

Thanks, that's what I also understood. In my case the ECC would be just 14 valid because I am more than 12 months here.

But why the Bureau of Immigration requires my flight ticket? Or if I want to reschedule the flight maybe?

 

In the Philippines every government employee makes their own rules, so the answer to the "why" question is mostly "because".
For years I had my "I'm still alive" document (for my pension fund back in the Netherlands) signed and stamped at City Hall with no problem whatsoever, but when the city lawyer who was my go to person for that matter retired, his successor suddenly wanted me to get "barangay clearance" first before she would sign and stamp my document.
Why? Because.

Oh, and i forgot, some of them hate foreigners, no known reason for this, it's just passed down from father to son, mmm maybe it's because most of the women here like foreigners.

 

Or it could also have something to do with some of the past foreign occupations of their islands?

 

I'll take a SWAG at it. I might guess the retired city lawyer was confident in his job security & new you were who you said your were by your IDs and or just a good memory. When in doubt, as in a new lawyer that does not know you from Atom comes along, your local Barangay is the go to for knowing who lives in their AO. Should your IDs matching your smile be enough for the new lawyer. It would be nice, but when she is new and any mistake could cost her that sweet gig of a job, she played it safe.

Ok, I should not ask why, just what to do

Remembers me to my embassy, the want always my birth certificate. It's like it changing always. A lot of things having no logic.
