A laptop, brand ASUS, the keyboard is off and what ever I did try, still not working.
Windows 11 is up-to-date and so is my BIOS.
All newest drivers available for this type of laptop has be installed straight from MyASUS, the official app.
    But still no light.
Somebody in my home country suggested there might be a loose contact on the motherboard that is causing the problem.
I already visited Algorythm, in the past they fixed some problems on this and other laptops, but this problem they couldn't solve.
Any advice or recommendation I should go to where they might fix the problem.

Windows updates cause problems all the time. Not long ago they took out a lot of USB ports, my Dell included. If your issue started after a recent automatic update others most likely are experiencing the same issue. It might just take a little time for ASUS and MS to field enough complaints to put 2&2 together.

I know you said your drivers are all up to date. I'm thinking of one specific driver that goes by different names and can be located in different places depending on the ASUS model. Where you able to find the hotkeys driver?

This problem already was there just one day before I did a Windows update. So, the update cannot have caused the problem.
Another problem was that the latest available restore point was the one of the Windows update, no other restore points available; hence useless for the reset.
I have the MyASUS app and in this app all available updates for this typical model of laptop are available there.
I even did ask ASUS in particular to send me a specific update for my keyboard driver. What they did send but also available in MyASUS was a driver I already did download and install, a driver with the name ASUS Device Activation.
I did follow the link you gave me but finally ended @the same place I have visited before and no such driver with such a name, in the download center they ask you for the details of the laptop in question and after completing I am finally directed to MyASUS, which doesn't help me any further as been there before.
A suggestion to download it from the Microsoft store for the ASUS System Control Interface V2 (driver), it says, already installed.
So all in all, a very simple not so complicated problem I still couldn't solve.
Thanks any way for your effort to try to help me out.
Looks like that a visit to ACE Logic Computing is almost unavoidable this coming Monday unless....!!??

I also start to believe it could be a hardware problem of simply replacing a led since I did try all solutions with respect to the software. So your idea good be pretty correct.
I am not going to open the laptop as my knowledge on hardware issues is rather limited and chances are I can make it worse than it is already.
What I already said in my previous posting, seems a visit to ACE Logic computing the best to do coz in the event of replacing a led is just click and go.

I bought an ASUS - worse laptop ever.

I bought it for my wife but she is too sharp for that and soon acquired a MacBook!

So I, being the most cost and environmentally concerned in my house, used it. The ASUS keyboard stopped functioning fully after about 3 years and I used a USB plug-in keyboard instead. Then the trackpad failed and I used a USB mouse. Next the hinges broke and I fixed them with short bolts that went through the casing (function above looks, as I said to my wife!). Finally, the screen developed a fault whereby about a third of it was covered by a patch of black/white/other colours - if connected to a TV the whole screen could be seen (and I could access the hidden part by temporaily changing the view of the screen), so it must have been a physical defect of the screen layers. In fact, I am sure I damaged it whilst holding the screen too tight whilst fitting the new hinge bolts. It is now about 6 years old and mostly retired. I might use it to connect to my TV for watching movies as the hidden screen problem is not an issue. (EDIT: I now recall that the SSD went too! I never usually meddle with the insides of my laptops but I found it very easy to replace by following YouTube). But would I risk buying an Asus again? No.

I also have a Lenovo that is 10 years old and has a keyboard issue too - a few keys do not work all the time. But other than that it has been very good - especially as at one year of age I dropped it on the tiled floor of an airport.

My newest is a Dell and it's okay - problems I have are due mostly to Windows and, as I spend days before using a new computer deleting as much Microsoft as I can and downlaoding alternatives (especially for security), I cannot be arsed to reload Windows.

But as @Show Pony stated a while ago - best not to buy laptops.

I took a laptop I had dropped onto a tiled floor to a certain repair shop here as it was not charging properly. They 'repaired' it and the fault developed again soon after. Ditto after they 'repaired' it a second time! Then a member of staff left there and said he would repair it at his home - which he did and I never had the problem ever again (in 9 years to date). So they had the staff capable of fixing it permanently but .............

Went to ALC (ACE Logic Computing) this Monday last.
Should have posted the outcome same day but was enjoying a non connection with my Globe @home internet (more fun in the Phils as always). Signal back today and lucky me not like the other day when an interruption took 5 days before finally restored. All off topic of course.
By using some keys of the keyboard it appeared that two keys were no longer functioning. The <fn> key and the Windows key. The latter I already did notice some time ago but did not give any attention as there other key combination possible to get the same result without using the Windows key.
The non functioning of the <fn> however is a more serious problem since the keyboard light has to be activated using the combination fn+F4.
Considering the age of the laptop and the fact I already spend more money on repairs recently than wanted, I choose not to replace the keyboard.
After all the laptop is still useful though a keyboard with light on makes it so much more comfortable and convenient.
