In light of the current world situation, Natural disasters, wars and unrest that holds the media attention, it begs the question, what's the future looking like for our children and our grandchildren. Can we really offer them hope for a better world to live in. I search for answers to the hatred and non forgiveness that exists, the greed of the rich and powerful who put no value on human life. Egotistical attitudes of some world leaders who stand back while innocent people suffer, at the same time they roll out the red carpet for the Tyrants. Religious indifferences is no excuse for those who choose to use violent means. or hatred towards their fellow man. I fear for the people I love and will leave behind, as my time on this earth eventually comes to an end. I truely wish I could offer them hope and a future filled with understanding and peace. May those who's lives have been stolen from them, in the recent horrific circumstances, rest in peace.
I share your concerns John, it looks like the threat of (expanding) war is getting bigger by the day, my days in the military at the height of the cold war feel like a walk in the park now. On top of that there are political developments in many countries that shift the focus to perceived national interests rather than cooperation, exactly at a time when cooperation is desperately needed. As far as the climate is concerned it may be already too late to avoid a really bad outcome down the road. Add to that the stuff you already mentioned and the future looks very bleak indeed.
