1st Traffic Light in Dumaguete

I find it weird that they have put the lights on first at 2 junctions that are not really busy but nothing yet at the junction at jose romero road and the diversion which almost all the time is chaos.

 

I haven't gone as far as the junction of the diversion road to the South highway by Dauin lately. That third light may be on now as well. I agree with the need for a light where you mentioned and would add the North end of the diversion road where it meets the national highway as well. As far as being weird, my opinion is they are concentrating the funding they have (that wasn't pocketed) to nearer the proposed new airport. Weird would be building the runway first.

At least the intersection you mentioned is covered by the Dumaguete Command Center CCTV system. You know, so they can ID and track you down after you get in the way of a Citizen.

 

When i first saw the signs at the Rovira road traffic lights stating that you could turn right on a red light i knew that would never work here with the me first mentality of most people here.
Sure enough the other day we were heading to the boulevard and the right lane was blocked by vehicles intending to go straight ahead, same thing in the other direction also.
Funny thing was that people behind them who wanted to turn right did not horn them and just waited, i think that's part of the reason why things don't go as they should here, people just accept crappy behavior so it becomes the norm.
