What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.
There are several stories on FB and lot of them are very similar. Does that make them facts? No, but there will be a twisted story to this murder.

PARTNER, SIBLING NAMED PERSONS OF INTEREST IN CARPENTER KILLING
SIBULAN, Negros Oriental — Police have identified the live-in partner of slain American marine biologist Kent Carpenter and her sibling as persons of interest after investigators noted inconsistencies in the woman’s account.
Negros Oriental police chief Col. Timmar Alam clarified that they are not suspects and that no evidence currently links them to the crime.
Police said forensic findings did not support the woman’s initial claim of sexual assault, while investigators also found no signs of forced entry. Robbery remains the leading motive after cash, a laptop and personal documents were reportedly taken.

Robbery may have been the short term goal but why did they have to shoot the golden goose?

Many strange things about this, once they shot him why leave the partner, a living witness alive ?
Police first said she was unharmed, she claimed rape, investigator said no rape, now yes rape ?

Well, the "no rape" comment came just a day after the incident. The way DNA labs work it is totally impossible to have a result within one day.

It's possible there was no evidence of the partner having had sex.

Strange for sure. She was a long time partner/mistress and he apparently about to retire.
