Casaroro Falls

Average User Rating:
4.5/5,
  • In the town of Valencia, Negros Oriental located 9.4 kilometers west of Dumaguete City lies the beautiful Casaroro Falls considered to be the most photographed waterfall in the entire Negros province.

Casaroro Falls is lodged deep into the rock crevices of the rugged Valencia mountains. With an astounding height of 100 feet, the water plunges into a deep cold basin before it flows down to a stream. The waterfall is considerably narrow, instead of the usual wide cascade, but this is precisely what makes Casaroro unique.

I also was there about a month ago and I totally agree with prior post. After you reach the stream at the bottom of the stairs you begin a treacherous unmarked hike to the falls. You must zigzag across this quick moving stream using slippery rocks as walkways unguided to reach the falls. I am 65 and in good shape, however I think I surpassed my physical ability on this one. There needs to be a warning for everyone for everyone's safety!

Been there a few weeks ago. The stairs, if they were damaged in 2011, have been fixed, but most of the raised path down in the valley has been badly damaged, which means any visitors need to be prepared to do some climbing over rocks and stuff and to get their feet wet on a couple creek crossings to get to the waterfall. And yes, not a suitable place to visit unless in reasonable shape. The stairs are around 300 steps down we were told , and that seemed about right.

loved it there, had a hike one evening with my fiancé in 2011. Often I wonder how much it has changed with the earthquake in 2011 that happen after our trip. We're now in the US but will return probably to Valencia to live someday soon.

Those stairs are a killer, better be in decent shape to do this one. Well worth the climb though!
