Just curious to find out if any adult Foreigner/ Alien has applied for Philippine Citizenship.
I have heard of joint / dual Citizenship being applied for, for those born out of the Country.
It would be interesting to hear the reasons why a Foreigner would apply or obtain a Filipino Passport or Citizenship.
(I still find the use of the word Alien amusing and have only seen it used in Filipino terminology).

Unlimited entry and exit without paying any immigration fees is why. The requirements for citizenship are pretty tough to meet though. Most can't meet them. I'm sure you can bribe your way into it easier than doing it legally. Would likely cost you 500k or up to bribe your way into a citizenship though.

As Filippino you pay a traveltax of 1,620 pesos each time you leave the country.
As Alien you are limited, the time you can stay in the country without paying visa fees.
Combined (dual citizenship) you can avail of the balikbayan program.
